Macalla Platform based bill payment services launched in Kuwait by Mpay
Dublin, Ireland: Macalla, leader and innovator in mobile software solutions, has announced the imminent launch of Mpay’s Bill Payment service for subscribers on the MTC network. Testing is currently underway with the solution due to go live before the end of the year.
The Mpay bill pay service allows postpaid subscribers to settle postpaid bills from their mobile phone using their debit card as payment. It also allows both pre- and postpaid subscribers to settle postpaid bills of buddies (eg parent-to-child, employer-to-employee). Other bill types being reviewed for mobile settlement via Mpay include electricity and water and annual membership fees.
Mpay is the mobile payments service brand of leading Kuwaiti company Al Bahar Telecom. Mpay’s Top-Up service is live in Kuwait since 2006 in Arabic and English. It allows subscribers on the MTC network to re-charge their prepaid mobile phones and those of others (eg family and friends) directly from their own phones. Top-up credit is applied within seconds and subscribers pay using their nominated bank account.
“Other services are planned to be added to the Mpay platform in the next few months,” said Niall O’Cleirigh, CEO Macalla. “This includes extending coverage to more countries and adding mobile banking and m-wallet enabled solutions.”
