Macalla delivers enhanced centralised top-up platform to O2
Dublin, Ireland; Macalla, Europe’s leading provider of mobile software product solutions, today announced that it has provided the technology and services to enable O2 enhance the centralised management of its credit and debit card data within a single platform.
By utilising Macalla’s Platform solutions, O2 is able to improve their offering to customers who want to top-up their prepaid phones using a credit or debit card via the O2 website, a simple, speedy and secure service. Once registered, customers input their personal details in one single area, creating a ‘single profile’ with the same PIN for all services.
The Macalla Platform manages the entire top-up workflow and provides the necessary interfaces to short message service centres (SMSCs), the operator’s billing system, and the bank or payment service provider for payment authorisation and settlement.

The Macalla Platform enables a wide range of electronic top-up services that have been proven to reduce operational costs of existing channels and develop and expand cost-efficient new channels. It also provides the platform to enable other value added mobile commerce services including bill payment, ticketing, banking, loans dispersals and mobile fund remittance.
